A night in Dusseldorf!

When I saw how long of a train ride it was from Brugge to Berlin, I checked to see if there were any surfers in the halfway point- Dusseldorf. The first surfer to come up was a woman who is a tour guide, likes to dance, and has a schnauzer! =D So I really wanted to meet her! I sent her a last minute couch request and she accepted! I arrived a little later than planned because I didn’t know I had to make a reservation for one of the trains I was taking. They set aside some seats for Eurail pass holders but they were all- so I had to catch one an hour later. No worries though!

My host in Dusseldorf was Anja! Her boyfriend Tom, his schnauzer Mortiz, and her came and picked me up at the station. Since I was later than planned, they has already went for dinner and taken Mortiz on his walk =( But we went back to their place, they gave me some food, and we talked over wine. Anja has been a member of couch surfing since it was created. She even wrote a book on this new kind of tourism, considering she is a journalist. Tom is a photographer, he was the photographer for one of the big dog shows. He had like 12,000 dogs to photograph! He had like 30 seconds for each dog! Loved sharing stories with the both of them.
Got to play with Moritz then! =) He was what they called a middle schnauzer (a standard schnauzer), so much bigger than the kind of schnauzer I’m getting! =P He was so cute! Had so much fun playing with him and it was nice being around a dog again! Even though I only stayed one night, it was diffidently a memorable surfing experience =)
