A week in London =)

So yesterday, I was in London for a full week! =) I love it here <3 keeping up with this blog is pretty hard- I'm always busy or sleeping!  I haven't written since Sunday, so here it what I've been up to...

Monday, January 9th 2012
Classes stared today but I only have classes on Tuesday,  Wednesday, and Friday =) So I had the day off, my friend and I went to Lewisham- to get some things at 'Poundland' (the British dollar store). Then we went into the northern Westminster area where Big Ben/Houses of Parliament and the London Eye are! =) It was all so beautiful, we just stood on Westminster bridge for a while to take it all in.

The Eye is closed for construction until the 21st of January. So good thing I'm here past then! =)

For the rest of the day we followed the Thames to St. Paul's Cathedral. On the way we passed the Sherlock Homes Pub, The Somerset House, and The Royal Courts of Justice. We did made some stops along the way for cappuccinos and beautiful scarves! =P At St. Paul's Cathedral- they were holding mass when we went in, which made it even more breathtaking. You are not allowed to take pictures inside but it was so beautiful. We sat and listened to mass for a little to take in the beauty of the building.

To finish the awesome day, a group of us went to the Hobgoblin- a pub that is so right by campus... thought I'd include a picture because I'll be referencing it a lot and its charming...

I had my first class on Tuesday, called 'British and American Musical Theater". I love it! Classes here are very laid back and interactive. We talked about different musicals before the 1970's and about what makes up a musical. Then we analyzed a couple exerts from 'West Side Story' =) Just some of the shows we will be going to the Theater with this class are- Sweeney Todd and Billy Elliot! So excited! =D
Tuesday night, a group of us went to a jazz club called 'Ronnie Scotts' in the Soho area. It was so damn classy =) My friend wanted to go there because she knew someone in the band. And the band invited her to play on stage with them! It was so awesome! =)

The tube only runs until midnight, so we experienced our first 'night bus' ride back to campus- its pretty entertaining.

Wednesday, January 11th
On Wednesday I had two classes- 'Creative London' and 'London Theater". In Creative London- the tutor just told us what to do in London and talked about what we were interested in. It was a pretty strange class- it had no structure or anything. lol Then I had 'London Theater' where we go see kinda modern and off-the wall productions. We go to one every week- including this day. We went to see 'Haunted Child' at the Royal Court Theater. (p.s. its spelled 'Theatre' here, so I'll be switching between them). But the play was weird to say the least, but we didn't have to pay for it, just the transportation- so whatever =)
Wednesday night is 'Club Sandwich' (idk why its called that) at the student union. ...yes the student union has a bar/club in it, its awesome.

and finally- today...
Thursday January 12th
I stayed at the union pretty late last night, so I did some intense sleeping in today because I didn't have any classes. Then went grocery shopping at Sainsbury's. Not to glamorous but I am living here! lol Hung out with friends tonight and went to 'Tasty Kabob' for cheesy chips-(french fries). ...they will be the death of my waistline here! lol

I'm not feeling too creative to write more at the moment, just wanted to post to update everyone as to what I have been up to. Please leave a comment to keep to motivated to post! lol Or what you want to know about London or what not! =)

Cheers!
