My perception and conception of time here is very unusual. I haven't even been in London for a week, but it feels like much longer. But yet, the days seem to be blending together.
Didn't post yesterday (Saturday the 7th)
We had the day free of orientaion nonsense, so a group of us went into central London to the Kensington. We walked through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens.
- Both of the parks had sooo many puppies everywhere! Being me- I could go on about pups for an entire post but I'll keep it short. Simply, European dogs are awesome! They don't need to be leashed everywhere, they just follow their owner. I love it! They are trained so well! I want to see if I can observe a dog trainging class or somthing because they clearly know somthing we don't! Okay that it about dogs! =P
Anyways, some landmarks near/in the Kensington Gardens...
| Near Kensington Gardens- The Albert Memorial. |
| The Kensington Palace. It is closed the whole time I will be in London. But after experiencing Versailles in France- this shouldn't even be considered a 'palace' in comparison! |
We grabbed lunch at a Pret a Manger, a kind of cafe store that is everywhere is London. I guess its like a food store at a gas station- just without the gas! lol
Then we went to the Natural History Museum. It was pretty awesome, especially the 'Earth's Treasures' portion. There were every kind of gem/rock in existence there, in every form possible. It was amazing to see.

As discussed in the post below, we have to change the rail to the tube or visa versa at London Bridge. So on our way back home, we crossed over London Bridge.
The picture is my friend Emily and I on London Bridge. No, the bridge behind us is not London Bridge- it is the 'Tower Bridge'. Everyone thinks the Tower Bridge is London Bridge. There is nothing real special about London Bridge from the looks of it, just a big misconception! =P
Then Sunday (January 8th)
I had orientation at the University of Westminster through my program- CEA. Westminster is the other University I could have gone to, but I am so glad I chose Goldsmiths! Their 'campus' is sprawled throughout areas in different buildings. But most importantly it is no where near as charming as my campus =P Also, it would be so much more expensive to live there because of food and transporting to and from class.
But at orientation my awesome program gave the group of about 40 CEA students a tour around the area.
We got to walk through where the movie 'War Horse' was premiering in Leicester Square!
I got to walk where the red carpet was going to be! lol There were already a bunch of people in queue (line) to see the celebrities- of which included Prince William and Kate =P
We got to eat a proper English Cream Tea lunch provided by my program- so I took advantage of that! Then I just explored the area on my own before heading back =)
Cheers!
